Dear Friend of Bishop Molloy Passionist Retreat House,
Thank you for your support of our Youth retreats through the St.
year I wrote about our plans to develop a new program for Youth and Young Adults. We were able to carry out an initial retreat
for a select group of young women from The Mary Louis Academy whom we were hoping to train as leaders for future programs.
The retreat was a roaring success. The youth and older adult presenters were stunning. And the participants’ response
was excellent. We came away with high hopes.
Hurricane Sandy hit! Most of the Young Adults whom we were training as leaders were heavily impacted by the storm and had
to put our programs on hold while they dealt with more immediate survival plans. Around the same time the mother one of our
key adult leaders needed constant attention as she entered into her final illness.
Despite all of that nobody dropped out of the project. It just had
to be delayed a bit. We are now back on track developing C/A 2.0 (Christian Awakening 2.0) with a couple of retreats,
and some training sessions scheduled for the 2013-2014 season.
Our regular day programs for Confirmation classes, 8th
Graders, and High School Students will continue with Carol and Sue as leaders. Fr. Michael Greene, C.P. also led some youth
programs during the past year and expects to continue to do these from time to time.
Your contributions to the St. Gabriel Fund have made it possible
for us to keep our requested fees reasonably low for individuals and schools with limited means. The leaders of our C/A 2.0
initiative have also been fundraising to help cover some of the costs of the program.
Thank you for your generosity in the past!
Thank you for your continuing generosity
in the present.
John M. Lee, C.P.
